The Answer:"Youth"  -  Songs written and performed singers in their teens.

2:10 The American Run - Alison Bradley - When we spoke to Alison last week she was nearing the end of her jouney on foot across the United States. On the weekend Alison finally finished the 4800 kilometer trip from the East Coast to the West. She ran the equivilant of two marathons everyday and had to battle extreme conditions. She celebrated by enjoying a dip in the pacific and a burger on the beach.

2:20  The Return of Hong Kong - Louise Hadalgo of BBC Witness
It's sixteen years since Britain returned its colony, Hong Kong, to China. Handing over Hong Kong was the territory's last Governor Chris Patten.

2:30 Reading - There's very little that's uproariously funny about old age. . .according to the Auckland poet Kevin Ireland . .and yesterday he gave us an example of  his view that,  successful jokes  are those which make you shudder a little as you smile. Today as he continues his essay, 'On Getting Old'  Kevin Ireland considers the classification of the old, and the accelerating separation of society -  the old from the young - the affluent from the poor.

4:06 Denise L'estrange Corbett and Mike Williams are on the Panel today...is Whanau Ora getting closer to the original vision for it? What was that vision?  ID numbers for kindergartens, why teachers are concerned, the new shape of the family in NZ , Edward Snowden and the post-asylum word, how music soothes pain, and social petworking-the surprising number of animals with a facebook page.
