2:10 TV Chef Recipes -  Niki Bezzant
When it comes to roasting, the Christmas turkey isn't the only one in the firing line. A study by the British Medical Journal has found that most of us would be better off buying frozen or ready made meals at the supermarket rather than cook something at home from some of the recipes found in Nigella Lawson and Jamie Oliver cookbooks.  Researchers took 100 main meal recipes from TV chefs and compared them with 100 ready supermarket meals. The food from the flash cookbooks had significantly more calories, protein, fat, and saturated fat,  per portion than ready meals.Niki Bezzant is a food writer and the founding editor of the Healthy Food Guide.

2:20 Quakes and Ladders - Siobhan Grimshaw
For many homeowners in Christchurch, dealing with the EQC and insurance companies can feel like playing a game of snakes and ladders: two steps forward three steps back. Yes your house needs repair.. no we're not sure how much we'll pay or when you'll get the check.
Now Cantabrian, Siobhan Grimshaw, whose own home is badly damaged from the earthquakes,  has created a board game called "Quakes and Ladders The game of Earthquake Recovery"  because sometimes she says if you don't laugh you'll cry.  Proceeds from the sale of Quakes and Ladders will go to local charities and community groups.

2:25 Paragliding Record  - Angus Tapper
For 6 and a half hours, over more than 147 kilometers of remote terrain in the South Island.
Queenstown Paraglider Angus Tapper rode the winds to set a new record. He flew from Coronet Peak to Haast Pass and back to Hawea to set the longest recorded Cross Country paragliding flight in New Zealand.

New Zealand's only fully fledged mandolin orchestra has been playing to the Xmas crowds this week, raising funds for the Auckland City Mission.More from David Steemson at 3.30.

4:06 The Panel - David Slack and Richard Langston.

Politicians' pay goes up, and so do excises and charges to try and balance NZ's books. Cattle rustling in NZ. The advantage of riding a bicycle over other exercise. Did the RWC really have the fantastic benefits for NZ being claimed for it in a new Business Ministry report? And should we be forking out $230,000 for young golfer Lydia Ko?
