2:10 The Unknown Blues - Dave Hogan, former lead singer of the Invercargill band.

1965 was a formative year for the Invercargill music scene. The Rolling Stones played a show at the Civic Theatre and inspired a group of local teenagers to put their own wild rock'n'roll-blues band together who brought their own degree of notoriety to the Southland music scene.

They were called The Unknown Blues, and they were often accompanied to shows by a gang of bikers. A new documentary, "Antarctic Angels and the Unknown Blues" will be screening around the South Island this week and tells the tale of that raucous time in 60s rock.

Dave Hogan, former lead singer of the Unknown Blues talks with Jim Mora from Melbourne.
