A health agency in Papua New Guinea wants people to be clear that AIDS is not over in PNG.

December 1st is World AIDS Day and Business4Health, or B4H, wants to highlight that PNG continues to have serious issues with HIV.

It said 52,000 people in PNG are living with HIV and need lifelong treatment for it.

The agency said nine people contracted it every day in PNG, with 3,300 infected over the course of a year.

It is for reasons such as these that B4H's project manager, Ann Clarke, said they were launching an online programme tomorrow, covering a wide range of pertinent issues.

"We have covered topics like, how strong are condoms, how to negotiate condom use with your partner, how to practice saying no to sex without a condom and engaging people about being comfortable talking about safe sex, and we have one work sheet that focusses ont he law and what is consent," she said.

The B4H programme is available on their website https://businesses4health.com/
