The company that controls Vanuatu's airports has apologised to a journalist, who was made to delete photos at the airport perimeter in Port Vila.

Daily Post journalist Kizzy Kalsakau was photographing a New Zealand Air Force plane at the weekend when security told her to leave, and delete her images.

Airports Vanuatu said its security staffer got it wrong, and has apologised to both Ms Kalsakau and the Daily Post.

It said it now developed a formal media policy and was committed to working with those who want to film or photograph at the airport.

Photography is still prohibited in security screening and immigration areas, or on the apron.
