A passenger arriving in Tahiti from Hawaii has been arrested after methamphetamine was found in their luggage.

The local broadcaster said 240 grams of the banned drug was found.
It said drug smuggling into French Polynesia from Hawaii had increased in recent times but that quantities were smaller than from the US main land.
Most methamphetamine used in Tahiti is imported.
A first local laboratory to make the drug was discovered at the beginning of this year.
