The journalists, Nanise Volau, Samisoni Pareti and Netani Rika, were taken in by the police in February over an apparent breach of the Public Order Act, which guards against so-called malicious acts.

The article was about workers at Nadi Airport, who were locked out in February over a pay dispute.

It suggested the magistrate who had ruled in favour of the locked out workers had had his contract terminated.

However, the director of public prosecutions, Christopher Pryde, said the article did not constitute any offence, and no charges will be laid.
