American Samoa congresswoman humbled by support

American Samoa's Congresswoman Aumua Amata says she is humbled by the support from voters, who last week returned her to the US House.

She said the election of Republican Donald Trump to the White House along with the Republican-controlled US Congress are a chance to boost American Samoa's agenda in Washington.

Aumua received more than three quarters of the American Samoa vote in the congressional race.

There were four Congressional race challengers.

Aumua said she was surprised and humbled to get such a huge majority receiving 8,923 or 75.4 percent of the total 11,834 ballots counted.
