The Prime Ministers of Samoa and Fiji have congratulated Donald Trump on his victory in the US elections.
The controversial Republican candidate beat Democrat rival Hillary Clinton to become the 45th US president after a long and tumultuous campaign.
Samoa's Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sa'ilele Malielegaoi told the Samoa Observer that it is God Almighty who appoints leaders in accordance to his will.
Tuilaepa said he is mindful of the outrageous comments made by Mr Trump about women, deporting all immigrant criminals to their countries and many others during the campaign.
He said he believes that the people of America voted for change.
Tuilaepa made reference to Mr Trump's victory speech, saying Mr Trump's tone is that of someone who genuinely wants to reunite the country.
Fiji's prime minister Frank Bainimarama has also offered his congratulations.

He said Fiji seeks America's support in its struggle against the extreme weather events and rising sea levels caused by climate change, which pose a particular threat to the Pacific Islands and other low lying areas of the world.
He said he is looking forward to working with Mr Trump to protect oceans and seas from the threat of pollution and overfishing.
