The Pacific Oceania tennis team have swept Bahrain 3-0 in their final Fed Cup group match in Thailand to keep their slim semi final hopes alive.

Team captain Patrice Cotti opted to rest frontline duo Abigail Tere-Apisah and Steffi Carruthers for the tie.

Mayka Zima from Tahiti made a winning debut in the singles, thrashing Malak Fardan 6-0 6-0 in the opening rubber.

Palau 16 year-old Ayana Rengiil also stepped up to the occasion, beating Nazli Redha by the same scoreline.

The pair then combined to take the doubles 6-0 6-0 and complete a perfect tie, without dropping a game.

Pacific Oceania are up to second in Group A but need Iran to beat Hong Kong to qualify for the knockout rounds.
