Ten year terms sought over attack on New Caledonia police

Prosecutors in New Caledonia have asked for 10 year jail sentences for two of the four men accused of attacking police two months ago.

Noumea's daily newspaper said the suspects appeared in the criminal court.

In the attack on their armoured vehicle, two police officers were injured.

There are frequent attacks on New Caledonia's security forces.

Three week ago, a man was jailed for 10 years for firing at police last year.
