The Bogia MP, John Hickey, and the Kagua Erave MP, James Lagea, have been referred to the Public Prosecutor by the Ombudsman Commission and will appear in the Waigani National Court.

Two separate leadership tribunals have been set up to investigate the charges.

The allegations are that both MPs failed to lodge financial returns to the Office of Integrity of Political Parties and Candidates Commission after winning seats in the 2012 General Election.

The Public Prosecutor, Pondros Kaluwin, says the men breached Section 89 of the Organic Law on the Integrity of Political Parties and Candidates.
