The Papua New Guinea Ombudsman Commission has referred the Minister for Public Service Sir Puka Temu to the public prosecutor for alleged misconduct in office.

Sir Puka is the second government minister referred this week, joining Public Enterprises and State Investment Minister Ben Micah.

Earlier the Prime Minister Peter O'Neill, who has launched a legal challenge, the Community Development Minister Delilah Gore and Tourism Minister Boka Kondra had been referred as well as Manus MP Ronny Knight.

The Ombudsman Commission alleges Sir Puka failed to uphold his duties under the Leadership Code.

The Commission says it is satisfied there is a prima facie case against Sir Puka.
