The New Zealand Symphony Orchestra is up for a Grammy for Best Orchestral Performance for its recording of Symphony "Humen 1839" by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Zhou Long and Chen Yi. Chief Executive Chris Blake talks about the standard set by the other nominees this year who represent four of the top United States orchestras: the Boston, Pittsburg, Seattle and Oregan Symphony Orchestras. Anna Coddington like so many other vocalists is inspired by 60's icon Dusty Springfield. Major Steven Small is director of bagpipe music for the British army. He's also a veteran of the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo which returns to Wellington this week to perform as part of New Zealand Festival.
