Canadian singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell has reportedly lost her ability to speak because of a brain aneurysm.

The 71-year-old California-based singer was taken to hospital in Los Angeles in March.
Little has been released about her health through official channels but her long-time friend, the musician David Crosby, said she was recovering at home and to the best of her knowledge she was not speaking yet.
He said she was not found for a while after falling ill.
