Flavell warns Maori seats at risk

Maori Party co-leader Te Ururoa Flavell is warning tangata whenua that if they do not vote carefully, it could mean the end of Maori seats.

This is the last week of the campaign for politicians ahead of Saturday's election.

Mr Flavell said it was more than likely National could return to power according to latest polls, and if it teamed up with the Conservative and New Zealand First parties that could be devastating for tangata whenua.

He said if those parties were the only choice to sit next to National than Maori seats would be at risk.

Mr Flavell said in the past, voters could have selected Labour, but current polls suggested the party was not in the running.

He encouraged tangata whenua to vote for his party.
