Phoenix preparing as if Gold Coast match going ahead

The Phoenix coach Ricki Herbert says his side's preparing as if their A League football match against Gold Coast United will go ahead on Sunday at Westpac Stadium.

With Gold Coast owner Clive Palmer having had his licence revoked by Football Federation Australia yesterday the FFA and the players association have been meeting with the players today to ensure the club completes its final four matches of the season.

The A-League chief executuive Lyall Gorman is confident agreement can be reached with the Gold Coast players to continue playing but whether it comes it time for Sunday's game to go ahead is unclear.

United's All Whites goalkeeper Glen Moss has told the Gold Coast Bulletin all the players are keen to see out the season.

Herbert says having won five of their last seven games he's keen to keep that momentum going and is concerned rescheduling the match would make already tough programme in the final part of the regular season even tougher.

Two of the sides last four games are away while their final regular season match is at home against competition leaders Central Coast.
