The former world No.1 Jelena Jankovic returned to somewhere nearer her best form to upset Samantha Stosur and reach the semi-finals of the Dubai Tennis Open in her adopted home city.
It will be the eighth-seeded Serb's first semi-final of the year after beating the Australian fourth-seed and US Open champion Australia 6-4 6-2.
Jankovic will now play Poland's Agnieszka Radwanska, who dropped only three games in trouncing Germany's Sabine Lisicki.
Caroline Wozniacki also advanced to the semis, recording a 6-3 7-5 victory over former French Open champion Ana Ivanovic.
Wozniacki will meet unseeded German Julia Goerges, who overcame Daniela Hantuchova, the former world No.5 from Slovakia, 4-6 6-3 6-4.
