The Football Ferns trailled 2-nil at half time.
Captain Rebecca Smith scored on 90 minutes with Hannah Wilkinson grabbing the equaliser with the last kick of the match.
The New Zealanders finished the tournament with 1 point following 2-1 losses to both England and Japan.
It is the senior women's first ever point at a World Cup.
In the other group match England beat Japan 2-nil with both of those sides qualifying for the quarter-finals.
