The former Wallabies prop Greg Holmes has won the selection battle to anchor the Queensland Reds' scrum in Saturday night's Super Rugby semi-final against the Blues in Brisbane.
Holmes beat fellow 2007 World Cup player Guy Shepherdson to the tighthead prop role left vacant by the rising Test front-rower James Slipper's ankle injury.
The 13-Test stalwart is one of five changes to the Reds starting 15 which beat the Chiefs 19-11 in their last-round clash in Hamilton.
Beau Robinson, Anthony Faingaa and Digby Ioane all return as expected while former Brumbies back-rower Radike Samo regained his place at No.8 ahead of Jake Schatz.
