Pulse and Tactix beaten again

6:09 am on 28 March 2011

The New South Wales Swifts celebrated their first win in Wellington with a 48-43 victory over the Central Pulse in the trans-tasman netball championship.

Two years ago, Swifts were on the end of an upset loss when Pulse triumphed in their first-ever win of the competition. The home team had their moments in the re-match but were hindered by a slow start and too many basic passing errors.

Strong in patches, Swifts did enough to get home but were not totally convincing as they too were guilty of inconsistency in their turnover rate and high penalty count.

Earliet the Melbourne Vixens got back to winning ways after beating the Canterbury Tactix 65-50 in Melbourne.

The win cemented the Vixens a spot in the ANZ Championship top four while the Tactix' losing streak now stretches back to the first round of last year. The Tactix competed gamely for much of the contest but were ultimately undone by their poor start and turnovers at crucial times.

Tonight the Southern Steel play the Adelaide Thunderbirds and the West Coast Fever play the Waikato Bay of Plenty.
