Pulse fight hard but again go down

6:19 pm on 5 March 2011

The Central Pulse remain winless in the trans-Tasman netball competition, but the Wellington side again showed how much they've improved in a 10-point loss in Adelaide to the champions, the Thunderbirds.

Despite losing 51-41, the Pulse closed to within three points in the third quarter, after being six points down at half-time.

But the Thunderbirds pulled away down the stretch for their second win in five games to move to sixth on the ladder.

The Pulse have only won twice in the competition's history and have now lost all four games this year - but they only lost by two points in their last two fixtures to New Zealand teams the Northern Mystics and the Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic.

The Pulse remain second bottom, above only the Canterbury Tactix.
