NFL doubles offer to seat-less Super Bowl fans

The NFL has offered $6000 to fans who bought tickets for the Super Bowl but were unable to access their seats at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas last week.

The NFL says fans can either take the money or be reimbursed for their expenses.

About 400 of the 1250 fans affected by the seating fiasco had to watch Green Bay's 31-25 win over Pittsburgh on TV monitors or in standing-room areas.

The rest were put in other seats after organisers declared their seats unsafe to sit in.

Initially the fans were offered $3000 or three times the face value of the tickets and a ticket to next year's Super Bowl in Indianapolis.
