The New Zealand Breakers' guard Kirk Penney is the National Basketball League's Player of the Week for the third time this season after leading his side to a tough home win over Cairns in their top-of-the-table clash last Thursday.
The first-placed Breakers beat the Taipans 94-88 at the North Shore Events Centre in front of their biggest home crowd in more than six and a half years.
Penney, December's NBL player of the month, was a standout for the Breakers , scoring 24 points, including five three pointers as well as six rebounds, five assists and two steals.
