Danielle Aitchison has bagged her third world T36 200m title after defeating Australia's Mali Lovell at the World Para Athletics Championships in New Delhi.
Aitchison's latest medal completes the three-peat of golds, having won world titles in 2023 and 2024 in the same event.
Just days on from winning the T36 100 metres title, Aitchison ran the 200 metres in a new world mark in a blistering time of 27.18s.
Aitchison's time takes almost 0.3s off the previous world record of 27.47s she set at the 2004 World Para Athletics Championships in Japan last year.
The Kiwi was in a class of her own in the women's final, running away from the field who battled out the minor placings.
Lovell of Australia was second in 29.69s, with Cheyenne Bouthoorn of the Netherlands third in 30.62s.
New Zealand's Paddy Walsh was 8th in the long jump T64 final with a jump of 4.89m in a promising world para athletics debut.
Earlier in the program, Anna Grimaldi, made light work of her 200m T47 heat to qualify for the upcoming semi-final in two days time.
The 2024 Paralympic champion cruised into the top spot in heat one.
Grimaldi's time of 25.76s ranked her fifth overall with rival Kiara Rodriguez of Ecuador posting a highly impressive 24.37s on her way to posting a new world record in the heats.
