The Canterbury Tactix netball franchise has named the former Silver Ferns shooter Donna Wilkins and the Jamaica international Kasey Evering in their 2011 trans-Tasman championship squad.

The 32-year-old Wilkins played for the Southern Steel in 2009, and took this year off to give birth to her second child.

Evering will join the squad in the goal keep position, and will also represent Jamaica in next month's Commonwealth Games.

The Tactix also named seven other members of the 2011 side, including the Silver Ferns squad members Anna Thompson and Charlotte Kight, last year's captain Maree Bowden, midcourters Phillipa Finch and Finau Pulu, the young goal shoot Ellen Halpenny and the defender Jo Trip.

The chairman of the Tactix board, Kevin Eder, says the earthquake has held up the signing of the last three players.
