Warriors face nervous wait after losing to Titans

6:01 am on 11 September 2010

The Warriors will be sweating on other results from this weekend's NRL rugby league first round of playoffs after losing 28-16 to the Titans in the Gold Coast last night.

The Warriors are now hoping all of the teams above them win giving the Auckland side a second bite at the finals football cherry.

After week one of the NRL's finals, the two bottom-placed teams bow out.

Normally, finishing the regular season in fifth place affords the team a second life should they lose first up.

If St George, Penrith and Wests all win the Warriors will get another chance next weekend.

But with the sixth placed Roosters, the Raiders and the Sea Eagles a fighting chance, the Warriors face a nervous weekend.

Should two of the three bottom placed teams win, it will be lights out for the Warriors' season.
