Boult, who no longer has a New Zealand Cricket contract was picked up in the first round by the Melbourne Stars.
Big Bash favourite Colin Munro has a new home being picked up by the Brisbane Heat in the second round.
De Grandhomme also went in the second round to the Adelaide Strikers.
The tournament will go head-to-head with the new South Africa and UAE T20 leagues during the congested January window with many of the bigger names having already signed for one of those competitions.
Five of the 12 platinum players went unselected, including Andre Russell and Faf du Plessis, as clubs put a strong emphasis on availability while working within their salary caps.
Liam Lawson takes first place in Formula Two sprint race
Another productive weekend for New Zealand driver Liam Lawson at the Belgian round of Formula Two.

Lawson got his first taste of Formula One in Friday's practive session with Alpha Tauri.
The 20-year-old then won the F2 sprint race and this morning finished third in the feature race at Spa Francorchamps.
He's now fifth in the standings.
Fellow New Zealander Marcus Armstrong is 11th in the standings.
The next round is in the Netherlands next weekend.
Black Ferns to meet Japan at Eden Park
In their final preparations for the World Cup, the Blacks Ferns will host Japan at Eden Park on September 24.

The match will be part of a double header with the All Blacks and Australia and marks the first time the Black Ferns have played the Japanese national team, known as the Sakura Fifteen.
Black Ferns Director of Rugby Wayne Smith said the opportunity to play on Eden Park, two weeks out from the World Cup opener at the same ground, will be invaluable.
New Zealand defeated Australia 22-14 in Adelaide on Saturday.
South Africa's Louis Meintjes wins stage nine at Vuelta
South Africa's Louis Meintjes powered to victory in stage nine of the Vuelta a Espana with a lung-busting solo effort as Belgian Remco Evenepoel extended his lead at the top of the general classification.
It was Meintjes' maiden stage win at the Vuelta as he emerged the strongest among the nine-man breakaway group, finishing more than a minute ahead of Italian duo Samuele Battistella and Edoardo Zambanini.
Victory had seemed out of reach for Meintjes when Battistella and Jimmy Janssens broke away in the final 10km but the Intermarche-Wanty-Gobert rider made a remarkable recovery to go past them with 2.5km to go and claim the biggest win of his career.
Evenepoel put in another strong showing, pulling away from his general classification rivals in the closing stages to cross the line fourth and open up a minute 12-second lead over local favourite Enric Mas of Movistar.
Three-times defending champion Primoz Roglic struggled on the 171.4km course from Villaviciosa to Les Praeres, fading towards the end and falling almost two minutes behind Evenepoel of Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl in the overall standings.
Monday is a rest day before the riders embark on a 30.9km individual time trial from Elche to Alicante on Tuesday.

Cameron Green stars as Australia beat Zimbabwe in ODI
A maiden five-wicket haul by seamer Cameron Green set Australia up for a five-wicket victory in the first one-day international against Zimbabwe in Townsville, which is hosting the first series between the sides Down Under since 2004.

Sent in to bat in blustery overcast conditions, the 13th-ranked tourists were bowled out in 47.3 overs for 200. The total never threatened Australia's experienced batting unit, which accelerated to 201-5 with 99 balls to spare.
The three-match series continues in Townsville on Wednesday.
Australia play New Zealand in the Chappell-Hadlee series next week.
