Latest - The former All Black Nick Evans has been inducted into the English Premiership Rugby Hall of Fame.

Evans, a one-club man with Harlequins where he made more than 200 Premiership appearances, helped them lift their first League title in 2012.

Evans moved from New Zealand to Harlequins in 2008 and played nine season for them and is their record points scorere with 2,249 points.

He is now on their coaching staff.

The only other New Zealander inducted was Warren Gatland who won numerous titles with Wasps between 2002 and 2005.

Bewley to ride in Giro

New Zealand will have just one cyclist in the year's first grand tour, the Giro d'Italia which starts this weekend.

Sam Bewley will ride for the Australian Mitchelton-Scott team.

George Bennett, who finished eighth in last year's race, hasn't made the Dutch Lotto-Jumbo team.

Black Caps beat Australia

The New Zealand cricket XI has beaten Australia by seven wickets in the second game of their World Cup one day warmup series in Brisbane.

Australia made 277 for six in their 50 overs with Steve Smith scoring an unbeaten 89, while Doug Bracewell took three wickets.

The Black Caps lost Hamish Rutherford in the first over, but fellow opener George Worker scored 56, Will Young 130 and Tom Latham an unbeaten 69 to guide the visitors home with 16 balls to spare.

The hosts had snuck home by one-wicket in the first of three warm-up games on Monday.

The last game is tomorrow.

Unchanged pack for Crusaders

Cruasaders coach Scott Robertson has named an unchanged pack to take on the Bulls in their Super Rugby game at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria.

The Crusaders are coming off a 21-all draw against the Sharks and the Bulls game will be the third of four straight matches against South African opposition.

Matt Todd will again captain the team in the absence of Samuel Whitelock who will miss the game following the birth of his child.

In the backs, Richie Mo'unga and Ryan Crotty return at first five-eighth and second five-eighth respectively, which sees Mitch Hunt and Braydon Ennor move to the reserves and Jack Goodhue switch back to centre.

The final change is at fullback, where David Havili starts in place of Will Jordan, who didn't travel to South Africa due to a foot injury sustained in the Sharks match.

Mystics stay bottom despite win

The Northern Mystics have beaten the Tactix 69-57 in Auckland in the battle of the bottom two teams in the Netball Premiership.

There was little to separate the two teams during an even first half but the Mystics showed their late season improvement with a compelling second half to register their third win of the season.

The result ended the Tactix's slim hopes of making the play-offs.

Mystics youngsters Grace Nweke and Tayla Earle showcased their future potential as the teenaged pair played key roles for the home side.

The Tactix remain fifth in the competition with the Tactix in sixth, just a point behind.

There are two rounds remaining before the play-offs.

Delhi beat Hyderabad in IPL

The Indian Premier League season is over for Kane Williamson and Martin Guptil after their Sunrisrers Hyderabad were beaten by the Delhi Capitals in an elimination match.

Guptil scored 36 and Williamson 28 as Hyderabad made 162 for 8.

Delhi, with Colin Munro and Trent Boult in the side, chased down their target with two wickets and one ball to spare.

Delhi face Chennai Super Kings in another playoff tomorrow to determine who meets three-times champions, the Mumbai Indians, in Sunday's final.

Folau loses sponsor

The hits keep coming for Israel Folau, with sports apparel company ASICS ditching the fallen Wallabies superstar as an ambassador.

The footwear giant said they could no longer sponsor Folau because their values "no longer align".

Folau is awaiting sanctioning after an independent panel on Tuesday found him guilty of a "high level" breach of his contract for his controversial social media posts.

Should the panel choose the most severe level of punishment in their power and terminate his four-year, $4 million contract, it's expected the dual international will appeal.

Toyota wanted Hartley

Toyota boss Rob Leupen says they wanted a known quantity in naming Brendon Hartley to replace Fernando Alonso in their World Endurance Championship team.

It was confirmed in the run-up to last weekend's Spa race that Alonso would be exiting the team after next month's Le Mans 24 Hours, with former Porsche WEC and Toro Rosso Formula 1 driver Hartley being brought in to take his place with the Japanese manufacturer.

Hartley won Le Mans with Porsche in 2017 and is a two-time World Endurance champion.

"We know Brendon, we have raced against him, we have seen him developing in the Porsche Team very well, he's a very open guy, he's amicable, a team player. He would fit in, said Leupen.

"At Porsche he proved he was a very good and quick driver and the year in Formula 1 did not make him worse. He will put his experience with Porsche towards the team."

Noholo leaving NZ rugby

Highlanders and All Blacks winger Waisake Naholo will leave New Zealand rugby at the end of the year to join English club London Irish.

The 28-year-old, who has scored 16 tries in 26 tests, was part of New Zealand's victorious World Cup campaign in 2015 and will look to help Steve Hansen's side in the title defence in Japan this year.

Naholo, who has regularly shown his deceptive speed and strength to trouble opposing teams, has also won a Super Rugby crown with the Highlanders in 2015 and remains the franchise's all-time leading try scorer with 41.

Paralympian to retire

Paralympian Nikita Howarth has announced her retirement from Para sport due to medical reasons.

Howarth became New Zealand's youngest ever Paralympian at the age of 13 when she made her Paralympic debut competing in Para swimming at the London 2012 Paralympic Games. The following year she was crowned a world champion. It has been a meteoric rise.

Howarth went on to compete at the Rio 2016 Paralympics with a clear goal of winning a gold medal. She achieved her goal and bettered it by one medal, also winning bronze.

In 2017 she switched to Para cycling and broke a world record.

Howarth has decided to retire due to the auto immune disease in her body.

Adidas extends deal with Real Madrid

Adidas will extend its sponsorship of Spanish football side Real Madrid until 2028, as it battles fierce competition in Europe from Nike and a resurgent Puma .

Adidas has seen its leadership in football eroded in recent years by the advance of its bigger U.S. competitor Nike, which sponsors Real Madrid's arch rivals Barcelona and is reportedly in talks with Liverpool, second in the English Premier League.

Adidas did not give any financial details of the deal with Real, which is currently ranked third in Spain's La Liga and made an early exit from the Champions League.

Fierce competition among Adidas, Nike and Puma for the top clubs in Europe has driven record deals in recent years, but company sources dismissed as much too high a figure of 200 million dollars a year cited by some media for the Real agreement.

Adidas last week reported that sales fell 3 percent in Europe in the first quarter.

Silverstone retains MotoGP race

Silverstone will host MotoGP until 2021 after agreeing to resurface the circuit before this year's British Grand Prix as part of a contract extension.

The race in August last year had to be cancelled due to heavy rain and drainage issues making it too dangerous for riders.

MotoGP race director Mike Webb said at the time that a resurfacing of the track had contributed to the problem.

The new resurfacing will be carried out in June. This year's race is scheduled for Aug. 25.

The circuit also hosts the British Formula One Grand Prix in July and is out of contract after this year with renewal talks ongoing.
