Last year's beaten finalists the Central Pulse have started the new ANZ Netball Premiership season with an emphatic 62-39 win over the Northern Mystics in Hamilton.
The Pulse dominated the court with the Mystics having few answers.
The Canterbury Tactix beat the Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic 48-42 and the Northern Stars beat defending champions the Southern Steel 66-64 in the other opening day games.

City claim first trophy of the season
Manchester City have claimed the first trophy of the English football season as they beat Chelsea on penalties at Wembley to clinch the League Cup for the fourth time in six years.
Raheem Sterling scored the vital penalty to give holders City a 4-3 shoot-out win after the match had ended 0-0 after extra time, the sixth time they have won the competition in all.
The match ended in controversy when Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri tried to send on goalkeeper Willy Caballero late in injury time, only for Kepa Arrizabalaga to refuse to leave the field.
City are also in contention for the Premiership, FA Cup and Champions League.

White Ferns lose Rosebowl series
The White Ferns have suffered a 95 run loss to Australia in game two of their one day series in Adelaide, meaning Australia hold onto the Rose Bowl.
Ellyse Perry clubbed her maiden one-day international century, her unbeaten 107 from 110 balls underpinned Australia's 247 for 7.
In reply, New Zealand crashed to 152 all out with Sophie Devine making 47 and captain Amy Satterthwaite 37, while just three other players made double figures.
Satterthwaite felt the target was gettable, but they didn't help themselves with poor field.
The victory gives Australia an unassailable 2-0 lead in the best-of-three series which concludes in Melbourne next Sunday.

Meanwhile fast bowler Nathan Coulter-Nile took three wickets as Australia beat India by three wickets with the final delivery in a low-scoring first Twenty20 international in Mumbai.
Needing 14 runs off the final over, bowled by paceman Umesh Yadav, Pat Cummins and Jhye Richardson each hit a boundary before they scampered to complete two runs off the last ball to reach their target of 127 in a nail-biting contest.
Tall Blacks beaten
The Tall Blacks have been beaten 86-80 by Jordan in their final World Cup qualifying game in Amman.
For New Zealand, who had already qualified, it was just their second loss from 12 qualifying games, while Jordan's win gave them one of the last spots from the Asian qualifying group.
It was a disappointing performance from the depleted Tall Blacks side with Corey Webster top scoring with 18 points, while Shea Ili made 16.
Italy test Ireland
Ireland have suffered a huge scare before finally securing a 26-16 bonus-point win over Italy in the Six Nations in Rome.
The win gives Ireland a bonus-point win that puts them third in the table on nine points, one point behind England and three adrift of leaders Wales.
Liverpool return to top of EPL.
Liverpool are back on top of the English Premier Football League after a nil-all draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Liverpool are a point ahead of Manchester City.
Arsenal beat Southampton 2-0 in London to move up to fourth with 53 points.
