The All Blacks updated Cane's status on social media.

#AllBlacks loose forward @SamCane7 is up and about after his successful operation in South Africa. Sam would like to thank everyone for all the support he has received from around the world, he is set to make a full recovery.

Cane fractured his neck in Sunday morning's 32-30 win over the Springboks in Pretoria and remained in South Africa.

He has since had an operation and is expected to remain there for a few days yet.

At the time All Blacks doctor Tony Page said Cane suffered from a fracture in a vertebrae, but didn't suffer any nerve damage.

The 26-year-old is expected to make a full recovery, but will be side-lined for several months and could possibly miss next year's World cup in Japan.

Cane left the field with injury 35 minutes into the game.
