The New Zealand rider Patrick Bevin has lost the overall lead in the Tour of Britain after a disappointing performance from his Swiss based BMC team in the 14km team time trial stage in Cumbria.
Bevin has slipped to fourth overall with Slovenia's Primoz Roglic now wearing the tour leader's green jersey.
"I'm pretty disappointment to lose so much time in the team time trial today. It wasn't our best day and the course really punished those who got it wrong. I'm still looking forward to the stages ahead and the race definitely isn't over yet. There is still a lot of riders still in contention for the overall," he said.

Team management though are still optimistic about Bevins chances.
"Of course we expected better today so, we are disappointed with this result," said director Valerio Piva.
"I think it was on the climb that we lost the time and in the end, we also lost the jersey.
"It was a special type of TTT with the uphill finish and we did the best we could but unfortunately we did not have the best time at the end of the day. Maybe working to control the race yesterday cost us a bit of energy and we paid for that today but Patrick Bevin was good today and I think he is still strong so we will see what we can over the next few days."
Meanwhile Spain's Jesus Herrada has taken the overall lead in the Vuelta a Espana.
New Zealand's George Bennett is just over four minutes off the lead in eleventh.
