Speculation will come to a close this afternoon when Netball New Zealand announce its new head coach to lead the Silver Ferns into next month's netball Quad Series and ultimately the 2019 Netball World Cup in Liverpool.

With no other candidates in sight it has been touted that former New Zealand-based coach Noeline Taurua will take the helm and speak this afternoon at a press conference in Auckland at 3pm on the matter for the very first time.

Former national head coach Janine Southby resigned at the conclusion of an independent review conducted as a result of the Silver Fern's worst ever result at a Commonwealth Games where the side failed to medal.

At last month's Silver Ferns selection announcement NNZ said a new coach would be revealed by the 10th of September, a date thought to have been given as Taurua and her Sunshine Coast Lightning side prepared for the Australian domestic final which they went on to win over the weekend.

The current Silver Ferns roster was selected based on the ANZ Premiership performances although the recent call-back of retired international Casey Kopua and veteran Laura Langman leads to believe that Taurua has had a hand in the selections process.

The Silver Fern's Netball Quad series campaign starts on the 15th September where they will face world number two England in game one.
