After dislocating her right shoulder, Jury underwent an MRI scan which revealed a labral tear within the shoulder post dislocation. Under orthopaedic review with a shoulder specialist in Waikato, surgery will be scheduled within the next month to repair it.

With rehabilitation expected to take between six to nine months, Jury will not only miss the rest of the 2018 ANZ Premiership, but the international Netball Quad Series when the Silver Ferns play England in September.

Young defender Sydney Fraser has also been ruled out after rupturing her anterior cruciate ligament during a pre-season match against Northern Stars.

"While all of us in the Magic camp are extremely disappointed about the season ending injuries sustained by both Sydney and Kelly, we have rallied and will step up a team," Magic coach Margaret Forsyth said.

"Our senior players have really supported our more junior players as they've responded to their opportunities to play in the Magic.

"We really wish them all the best for their rehabilitation and return to netball for the 2019 ANZ Premiership."
