Standing at 2.06 metres tall and quick on his feet, Majok will join the Breakers on a one-year deal for the 2018-19 Australian NBL season.

New head coach Kevin Braswell, who has taken over after the unexpected departure of Paul Henare, said he was delighted to secure the services of the 25-year-old Sudanese-born Australian

"Majok is exactly the player we are after, he plays up tempo, crashes the boards at both ends and is an excitement machine above the rim.

"This should say plenty to Breaker Nation about how we intend to go about things this season, I know the fans are going to love his passion and athleticism.

"I am excited about Majok and what he will bring to us as a club, I have no doubt his best years are in front of him."

Majok's numbers for the 2017-18 season were not startling, the player with an ability to play at centre or forward averaging only 2.7 points and 2.6 rebounds per game.

Injury meant he also missed 13 of Melbourne's 35 games, with Braswell looking to use that as motivation for Majok to tap back into the form that saw him selected in his first Australian Boomers roster in 2017.

Majok, who is part of the Wellington Saints roster for the current New Zealand NBL, was pleased to have landed a contract with the four-time championship winning club.

"I have always liked the Breakers programme, when I played for Melbourne every game against them was tough, I really like what they are all about, their culture and winning championships has captured attention all over Australia and New Zealand.

"The conversation really started with the signing of coach Braswell, I like how he coaches and I am with him now in the New Zealand League, so some of it came down to wanting to play for him this season."

Majok may also soon be joined by one of his United team-mates at the Breakers.

Stuff are reporting power-forward Tai Wesley, who played two seasons at the Breakers between 2014 and 2016, is likely set to re-sign for a return to Auckland.

The departures of the New Zealand duo of forward Mika Vukona and forward/centre Rob Low are already confirmed, while guard Shea Ili and forwards Tom Abercrombie, Finn Delany and Jordan Ngatai have re-signed for next season.
