First five Richie Mo'unga helped steer Canterbury to victory scoring 25 of the red and blacks' 35 points.

Tasman opened the scoring and found themselves with a 10-nil lead early in the first half but after that it was one way traffic to the hosts.

Mo'unga scored two tries, kicked three conversions and landed three penalties to ensure Canterbury secured it's third straight title.

Earlier in the day, Wanganui also made it three in a row when they beat Horowhenua Kapiti 30 - 14 to win rugby's Heartland Championship Meads Cup in Levin.

Bay of Plenty won the women's Championship rugby final, beating Otago 7-5 in Mt Manganui.
