Fox makes flying start to Australian Open

The Auckland golfer Ryan Fox has made a flying start to the Australian Open, carding a four under par opening round of 68 to sit just one shot off the lead.

Fox's round included four birdies, the first three coming on his opening three holes.

Australians Lucas Herbert and Curtis Luck lead at five under par.

Former world golf number Jordan Spieth is one shot behind Fox.

Two other New Zealanders Ben Campbell and Daniel Hillier are tied for 16th, 3 shots off the lead.
