Kidwell undecided on Leuluai's replacement for final

The Kiwis coach David Kidwell will have to choose between international or positional experience when deciding on a replacement for injured five-eighth Thomas Leuluai for Monday morning's Four Nations rugby league final in Liverpool.

Leuluai - one of the Kiwis' most experienced players - broke his jaw during New Zealand's 18-all draw against Scotland last weekend, leaving the crucial number 6 jersey open.

The Penrith Panthers' Te Maire Martin is the only other specialist stand-off in the squad, but with only one Test cap to his name, Kidwell might look for a more experienced player to pair with Shaun Johnson in the halves.

Storm back rower Tohu Harris, who's played well in the forwards this tournament, is the other obvious option to move back to five-eighth, having played in the position for the Kiwis in the 2014 ANZAC Test.

Kidwell said he's yet to make a call on who will replace Leuluai and is refusing to name names.

"We've got a couple of options there, we've got a couple of training sessions coming up so we'll figure it out then," he said.

"Whoever comes in there we'll have full confidence in [them] being able to do the job."
