Kangaroo Mansour injured in training

Australia winger Josh Mansour is almost certain to miss Sunday's Four Nations rugby league clash against New Zealand after sustaining a potentially serious knee injury in training.

Mansour was in line to face the Kiwis after an impressive two-try salvo in the win over Scotland last weekend with coach Mal Meninga heavily hinting he had done enough to keep his place in the side.

The injury was sustained in the team's final training session at the St George's Park complex in Staffordshire in central England and the 26-year-old was taken from the field for scans.

Mansour cried out in pain as he was carried from the field after colliding with Josh Dugan towards the end of a small-sided game between squad members which was immediately stopped.

He was taken to hospital and will undergo an MRI scan to assess the damage.

The Kangaroos will leave Burton, which is the state of the art training base of the English football team, tomorrow morning when the team is likely to be named.

They will head for Birmingham to prepare for the double header fixture against the Kiwis in Coventry, a game which is preceded by England's match against Scotland.
