The New Zealanders were down 3-nil at half time before Sophie Cocks scored just after the break.

Olivia Merry got New Zealand's second goal late in the game.

The result means Argentina are well placed to make the final, while the Black Sticks probably need to beat the USA in their last pool game to make sure they qualify for the play-off for third.

New Zealand captain Kayla Whitelock said, "We were a bit late out there and it was tough. We weren't clinical enough and now we are looking to take third. We didn't have aggressive energy like we did in the game before (Great Britain) so a little disappointed."
