The first American team to win sailing's America's Cup for nearly two decades is undecided about the venue for the next regatta, citing San FrancIsco and San Diego in California and Newport Rhode Island as possibilities.

Larry Ellison's BMW Oracle won the cup with another solid win over the defender Alinghi, taking race two by nearly five and a half minutes in the best of three series in Valencia Spain.

The win ends more than two years of legal battles between the two teams with the American's arguing the Swiss kept trying to bend the rules in its own favour.

Larry Ellison says he is now happy to drop the remaining court actions against Alinghi.

Meanwhile the owner of the Alinghi team, Ernesto Bertarelli says it was always going to be hard for the Swiss team against an American team in American courts.
