The Black Caps are now ranked number one in T20's, number two in ODI's and number five in Tests.

Williamson's side has a tour of South Africa in August before home series' against Pakistan, Australia, Bangladesh and South Africa.

He assumed the captaincy earlier this year after Brendan McCullum retired.

Speaking for the first time since officially being made captain, Williamson says he wants to keep the culture moving forward.

"It was great to see the way the team developed and improved at the T20 World Cup and I think we adapted as a group and the guys were fantastic."

"That's one of the best parts about the job, watching the team grow and move forward as a unit, hopefully we're able to continue to do that in the near future with so much cricket coming up."

"The guys are raring to go and there are so many of them playing around the world that they'll be fresh and had a bit of cricket under their belts when international duty comes around."

"Certainly the culture and trying to move that in the right direction is something that you get a lot of satisfaction from."

Williamson, who debuted for New Zealand in 2010, has played 46 Tests and has an average just under 50, his ODI average is 48.
