Black Caps thrash Sri Lanka

The Black Caps have made an impressive start to their time in India, crushing Sri Lanka by 74 runs in this morning's World T20 warm-up match in Mumbai.

The Black Caps made 226 for four batting first, with Colin Munro and Corey Anderson both blasting rapid fire 60's.

Opener Martin Guptill helped get the Black Caps off to a fast start with 41 runs off 28 balls while Grant Elliott put the finishing touches on their innings, bringing up 36 runs off 34 balls.

In reply Sri Lanka could only manage 152 for 7 from their 20 overs.

Lahiru Thirimanne top scored for his side with 41 runs while Chamara Kapugedera made 38.

Black Caps fast bowler Adam Milne took three wickets in the match while Ish Sodhi picked up two of his own.

New Zealand next play England in their preparation for the World Twenty20.
