Four Australians have grabbed the last spots in the field for this week's New Zealand Open golf championship near Queenstown.
Three journeyman professionals, Ed Stedman, Tom Prowse and Marcus Cain took full advantage of the more placid morning conditions to post scores of three-under par 69.
Paul Spargo bagged a four-metre birdie putt on the first extra hole to beat four New Zealanders in a play-off for the last spot - the professionals James Gill and Hamish Robertson and amateurs Matt Perry and Owen Burgess.
The Open starts at Michael Hill's course on Thursday.
