The US Open women's tennis semi-finals scheduled to be played today have been postponed.
Both the men's and women's semis will now be played on Friday in New York.
Play was scheduled to begin at 7pm New York time but impending rain forced organisers to reschedule.
In the women's semi-finals, Serena Williams faces Roberta Vinci in her continued pursuit of the calendar-year Grand Slam, and Simona Halep plays Flavia Pennetta as each player attempts to reach her first US Open final.
Those matches will be played early on Friday, New York time.
The men's semis will be played in the evening with five-time champion Roger Federer taking on reigning French Open champion Stanislas Wawrinka, and 2011 US Open winner Novak Djokovic facing defending champion Marin Cilic.
