New Zealand's last remaining hope at Auckland's ASB tennis Classic has exited in the first round of the singles.
For the first time Marina Erakovic has failed to progress past her first match at the country's top women's tournament, losing 6-4 6-3 to France's Alize Cornet.
Erakovic called it "a bad day at the office" and felt for the raucous home fans who'd turned up to support her.
