New Zealand batsman Martin Guptill says he had no inkling he was on course for a record score in the Cricket World Cup quarter-final win over the West Indies in Wellington.

Guptill made 237 not out, as the Black Caps beat the Windies by 143 runs to advance to Tuesday's semi final against South Africa in Auckland.
Guptill became the highest individual scorer in a World Cup match, surpassing Chris Gayle's 215 from earlier in the tournament, and the first New Zealand batsman to score a ODI double century.
Guptill says Gayle was one of the first people to congratulate him.
"Chris Gayle came up to me and congratulated me and said 'welcome to the league', that was quite funny. Everyone was just pretty congratulatory and right in behind me," he says.

"I'm still not really sure what happened to be honest. It hasn't really sunk in yet. Obviously incredibly proud of what happened and hopefully we can win another game and another one after that."
Guptill says it was a surreal experience having the crowd chanting his name throughout his innings and something that he's never experienced before.
Trent Boult was the most successful of the New Zealand bowlers taking four wickets and going to the top of the tournament's leading wicket takers list with 19.
