The New Zealand Breakers' eight-day break in the Australian basketball league has come at the perfect time as they prepare to meet Adelaide this afternoon.

It's given the Auckland team time to rest and get over some injuries.

Cedric Jackson isn't fully over his niggling wrist sprain but the American star import will play.

Breakers captain Mika Vukona is over his head knock, while guard Rhys Carter's going to tough it out with stitches in a dislocated finger.

"Yeah it was nice to get that break, I was able to give it three full days off or four actually, three days after the surgery in the hospital. I got a little brace that I put on it and just some padding on it just to try and take away that impact on the stitches."

Rhys Carter and the Breakers meet the 36ers in Adelaide at 4pm.
