The New Zealand sailors Alexandra Maloney and Molly Meech have won the 49erFX class at the World Cup regatta in Abu Dhabi.

The pair were 4th in today's medal race and finished 23 points clear of their closest rivals from Sweden.
Maloney and Meech will now return to New Zealand to take a break over Christmas.
Meanwhile Marcus Hansen and Josh Porebski were 4th in the men's 49er, Sam Meech was 6th in the Laser and Josh Junior 9th in the Finn.
