Dixon ends run of runner-up finishes in Alabama

The New Zealand motor racing driver Scott Dixon has finally ended his four consecutive runner-up finishes at the Indy Car grand prix in Alabama, but it hasn't been with a victory.

Dixon has finished third in this year's event to move him up to fourth in the championship.

Today's race was delayed by heavy rain, started in the wet and finished with the safety car leading the cars over the finish line.

American Ryan Hunter-Reay won the the race for the second consecutive year leaving Dixon contemplating his third placing, his worst ever finish at the event.
